This home was another project we acquired via auction. It is always a risk to purchase a home via auction as you never quite have the full picture of the project. We felt that there was plenty of potential to make this dilapidated house a space for a family to thrive.

The first steps were to confirm overall layout. Split level homes are often one floor living with perhaps a den or a spare bedroom on the basement level. We decided that we could maximize the footprint of the home if we fully finished the basement level and created a master suite and additional bedroom or office space. The other major change was to take out the divider wall between the kitchen and living room, and change the kitchen layout to allow for a kitchen island facing the living room. We felt that this would be a great fit for a family to connect the two living spaces.

At the end of this project, we were able to provide a completely renovated home that focused on maximized the function of the space.
